Waterloo Ward 5
As a proud resident of Waterloo, I feel privileged to call this city home. Our community is wonderfully diverse, made up of families, neighbours, long-time residents, newcomers, and students who all play a part in making Waterloo such a special place to live. It is this sense of belonging, connection, and shared purpose that makes our city so strong.
As a wife, mother, community advocate, and someone who has spent years helping residents navigate challenges, I care deeply about keeping Waterloo a city where everyone has the opportunity to succeed, feel connected, and belong.
Through my work in the community, I have learned that our greatest successes happen when people feel heard and when we work together to find solutions. Over the years, I have worked alongside grassroots organizations, newcomer communities, neighbourhood groups, and residents from all walks of life. No matter our backgrounds or experiences, one thing has always stood out: we all care deeply about where we live, and want it to thrive.
Through my community work, I have connected residents with services, advocated for tenants, assisted people in need, supported newcomers as they settled into our community, helped organize community vaccination clinics that delivered more than 3,000 vaccines, and created opportunities for neighbours to come together and support one another. These experiences have shown me the power of community and the difference we can make when we work together.
I spend my days listening to residents, helping solve problems, and navigating systems that can often feel frustrating and overwhelming. I've seen firsthand the challenges people face and how important it is to have someone who listens, follows through, and works hard to get results.
That's why I'm running for City Council.
I want Ward 5 residents to have a strong voice at City Hall and a councillor who is accessible, responsive, and focused on practical solutions that improve everyday life.
I would be honoured to earn your support, and I look forward to hearing about the issues that matter most to you, and ideas that will help build a better city.
You can always reach me at hello@edadede.ca if you have questions, concerns, or suggestions. I'd also be happy to join you for a backyard chat, a neighbourhood gathering, or a community conversation. The best ideas often come from simply sitting down and talking with one another.
I know firsthand that the strongest platform is one built by listening. The more I hear from you, the better I can represent our community and the priorities that matter most.
Take Care, Eda
